Ian Somerhalder should be used to getting hoards of ladies throwing themselves at him, but The Vampire Diaries star seemed rather taken aback when somebody proposed to him recently via Instagram. However, instead of taking the proposal seriously, the actor mocked the fact that the person in question had done it via social networking.
Ian posted a shot of the message for his millions of followers to see, showing the Instagram user apologising for not thinking of a more romantic way to pop the question.
Despite many hopes of a Nina Dobrev and Ian rekindled relationship - after the pair split earlier this year - it looks like the hunk's co-star ex may be looking to be single for a while, as she admited recently that she just needed to "find herself".
The actress who has appeared to be on good terms with Ian who is also her co- star on The Vampire Diaries, since their split, told Us Weekly recently that she's in no rush to bag herself another boyfriend.
She is quoted as saying: "I've been a relationship girl and I've been in long- term relationships my whole life until this point, so I think I'm looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again."
